Valentine’s Day began several centuries ago in honour of one or more Christian saints named Valentinus and has become a popular event around the world for lovers celebrating romance.

But it isn’t celebrated the same way everywhere, with different countries adopting different traditions along the way.

For example, in Japan it’s the men who get treated on the day, while in France, women used to burn pictures of the men who rejected them (although the government banned the practise because it got too rowdy!)Check out this infographic by Gift Baskets Overseas that details how the big V-Day is celebrated globally.
