Aussie couples are reportedly paying up to $100,000 for engagement rings like those worn by celebs.
News.com.au reports that Blake Lively’s oval cut diamond is the most requested style at the moment, according to leading Australian jeweller, Nic Cerrone of Cerrone Jewellers.
The Gossip Girl star’s ring is an oval diamond in a four-claw setting on a rose gold pave-set diamond band.
Other celeb sparklers that are influencing the size, cut and cost of rings requested by couples are Mary-Kate Olsen’s vintage Cartier ring, the square-shaped diamond boasted by Sofia Vergara and Victoria Beckham’s emerald cut ring.

Cerrone believes that social media appeal is driving the trend towards celeb-inspired rings, and says couples are spending an average of $15,000 to $20,000 – which is about $10,000 more than they were spending two years ago.
