A Melbourne couple spared no expense when having the destination wedding of their dreams at Mission Beach in Far North Queensland.

Lauren and Adam Nikolovski are reported to have spent $100,000 on their lavish affair that included flamethrowers, fireworks and food stations.

The 28-year-olds, who first met when they were 16, married at The Elandra resort, which they fell in love with on a trip to Queensland.

“‘We found the most amazing venue, with breathtaking sea views and added special touches that were personal to us,” Lauren told the Daily Mail.

She said that they had always dreamed of a destination wedding ‘somewhere warm, but easy for our guests to find.’
After a few trips to sunny Queensland, they found their ideal place.

‘The Elandra is an all-inclusive, exclusive resort that we could hire out for ourselves and our guests, with views of the Great Barrier Reef that take your breath away,” Lauren said.

“I got my dress from Jane Hill Bridal, my accessories from Samantha Wills and my shoes from Mimco,” she said.

“I wanted my dress to be elegant but sexy. I always imagined it would have a split so I could dance the night away with ease.”

Adam’s parents surprised the couple with a flamethrowers’ demonstration upon entrance to their reception, held on The Elandra’s poolside deck, while¬† a fireworks display featured during their first dance. Their entertainment included Jason Heerah, who appeared on The X Factor.

‘The contrast of the white pool deck with the grassy gardens of the Elandra property where we actually married was a beautiful contrast,” Lauren said.

Guests were treated to food stations featuring different cuisines, including sushi, burgers, fresh seafood and tacos.
