Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding isn’t the only royal wedding that will take place in 2018 – Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie has become engaged to her partner Jack Brooksbank.

The Royal Family released a statement announcing they had become engaged in Nicaragua earlier this month and are expected to marry in the northern hemisphere Autumn:

“The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Eugenie to Mr. Jack Brooksbank.

Her Royal Highness and Mr. Brooksbank became engaged in Nicaragua earlier this month.

The wedding will take place in the Autumn of 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, with further details to be announced in due course.”

Eugenie, 27, is the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. She and Jack Brooksbank have been dating for 7 years. She is eighth in line to the throne.

Jack Brooksbank, 29, manages a London nightclub and is a friend of Prince Harry’s.

Posing for official engagement photos today, Eugenie’s engagement ring was revealed as pink/orange oval padparadscha sapphire surrounded by diamonds.

The pair will be marrying at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle – where Harry and Meghan will also wed. The chapel dates back to the 1300s and has seen many royal weddings held there. This includes Prince Edward’s 1999 wedding, Prince Charles and Camilla’s 2005 wedding, and Peter Phillip’s 2008 wedding.
