We get asked a lot about who is meant to stand where when you finally walk down the aisle. The short answer is: stand wherever you like.
Traditionally, however, in Christian ceremonies, the bride and bridesmaids stand tot he left and the groom and the groomsmen stand to the right.
This tradition dates back to the Middle Ages where the groom would keep his sword-fighting hand – the right one – free to engage in a spot of combat in case someone decided to stop by at the last minute and kidnap the bride.
In Jewish ceremonies, the bride traditionally stands to the right. This is often also the case in military and police weddings.
Unless you are super-traditional, stand where you think is best!
