Princess Beatrice announced her engagement to her beau of 11 months, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi this week to the delight of royal wedding enthusiasts everywhere who are excited for yet another one in 2020.

In photos taken to announce the engagement by her sister Princess Eugenie, Beatrice proudly shows off her engagement ring.

According to HELLO! magazine, Edo was planning the proposal for four months and consulted with jeweler Shaun Leane, who previously worked for Alexander McQueen for 20 years, to design the ring.

Shaun was also responsible for creating the ring Prince Harry proposed to Meghan Markle with.

Shaun told HELLO! that the ring was hand-cast in platinum in his London workshop and features a 2.5 carat central stone with two baguettes on either side at 3/4 of a carat each.

The diamonds were ethically sourced and are of the highest colour and clarity.

Shaun said Edoardo worked with him to design the ring, and the whole process from design to handcrafting the piece took around three to four months.

Reports in the UK press are that the ring is worth as much as £315,000 which is around $546,000 Australian.
